What really happened in the 1988 judicial crisis.

6 Supreme Court judges were suspended during that time which means theoretically, the Supreme Court itself had been suspended. How can one of the pillars of the Separation of Powers Concept be suspended? For those of you who dont know much about law and courts, there are 10 Judges in the Supreme Court at that time including the Lord President/CJ.

to know more on what really happened back then, read this. it is an account by Datuk George Seah, one of the judges suspended. you will be shocked to no end.

this is the first time i saw a detailed account of what really happened back then. up till this second, all i know about what happened were vague stories of misdeeds by the 3 judges that were eventually removed from office namely Tun Salleh Abas, Tan Sri Wan Suleiman and Datuk George Seah.

i was so infuriated by this travesty commited by the Executive. couldn't believe it. not only the judiciary had been crippled by Mahathir, he also clipped the wings of the Rulers, changes to the constitution were made to limit their powers.

today we are seeing the results of these actions. somethings has to be done to correct the situation.
