What is global warming?
Global warming is caused by the release of carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping gases into the earth’s atmosphere. The gases act like a thick blanket, trapping the sun's heat and causing the planet to warm up.
This is problematic to human civilization because it will result in increasingly severe storms and droughts, melting glaciers, rising seas, changing weather patterns and widespread diseases. Unless we curb global warming emissions, average temperatures could rise by 3 to 9 degrees by the end of the century.
How can you help?
A small effort can make a difference. Here are 10 tips that anyone can follow to do their part.
1)Use an electric fan
Use an electric fan in our tropical heat instead of relying on the air-con.
2)Change a light
Replace regular light bulbs around the house with compact fluorescent light bulbs.
3)Drive less
Walk, cycle or carpool with friends. Alternatively, taking public transport instead of driving can also save a great deal of CO2.
4)Recycle More
Recycle all your household waste (newspapers, plastic bottles, magazines).
5)Turn off your electronic devices
Switch off lights, appliances and electronic equipment when they are not in use. Switch off at the main power after you’re done.
6)Avoid products with a lot of packaging
Look for fuss-free products. Simply cutting down your garbage by 10% makes a difference.
7)Use paper wisely
Think carefully about whether you really need to print a document. If you must, use recycled paper, or make use of both sides of the sheet.
8)Use less hot water
Wash your clothes in cold or warm water & dry them under the sun instead of using a mechanical dryer.
9)Plant a tree anywhere
A single tree will absorb 1 ton of carbon dioxide over its life time.
10)Pass it on
Small efforts make an impact if many people change their ways.

Jdn harap dia nak bagi. Hahaha. Kita mesti pastikan Ian bagi balik dia mia DVD. Hahaha. I tell you the doc was damm good. Really damm good. It was close to perfection. Well, What do I mean by perfection?
Humans kan dun really care abt indirect effects lah. So kan the another documentary titled "The 11th Hour" is cun lagi. There are darn recent evidence and and quite scary lah. This kind of stuff will surely catch the viewers attention. But there are alos some who take the easy way which is "dont see the movie". And they think that by that way they will not feel guilty. Quite sad thinking of this kind of people.

Ok Ok... I will schedule film screening lah... :-) I know I said I won't lend it to anyone until Ian gives me back my DVD that I lent him and that is TRUE!!! I care about my stuff a LOT.... must be in pristine condition so that I can still watch it when I am 90 and thankfully, that is still a long way away... bwaahahahahahha....
By the way, Inconvenient Truth is really STUPENDOUSLY AWESOMELY MIND BLOWINGLY FANTASTIC!!!!

there's a sad fact behind this documentary. the film is fantastic but not the film maker, al gore.
he doesn't practice what he preaches.
he still flies in his fuel guzzling private jet that is contributing to global warming.
his car is also not the green type. its a fuel drinking cadillac and chevy.
if you still consider him an enviromentalist, then anyone also can be an environmentalist.
to be an environmentalist. there are many sacrifices to make. i for one am not sure that i can be an environmentalist.
ask urself this question. r u ready to give up driving? r u ready to give up flying? r u ready to use less electricity?
there are many more questions like this that you have to ask yourself b4 you really can say that you care for the environment.
don't just talk. you must walk the talk.
